When sufficient funds are available, the CPYRWMA will solicit project requests which address water quantity, water quality, flood control, and conservation needs from counties within the watershed boundaries. The following is general information regarding the Project Criteria and contact information for submitting qualified project proposals for consideration by the Board of Directors.
Project Criteria
Projects will compete for acceptance based on its relative merits and on how well it achieves the goals of the CPYRWMA by addressing management elements and by an evaluation of the value of the project relative to its cost to the taxpayer. Projects will not be selected for funding based solely on a first-come, first-served basis.
Project applications must identify one or more of the primary management elements of Water Quantity, Water Quality, Flood Control, and Education which will be achieved through project implementation. All projects must be located within the Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers watersheds.
Projects must have a minimum of 50% local or other contributions (in-kind or dollar amount) except for needed technical or scientific work which cost share will be negotiated between the CPYRWMA and the co-sponsor, if applicable, and approved by the CPYRWMA Board.
Projects which do not clearly meet the requirements as set out in Paragraphs 1 and 2 above will not be considered for funding. Project proposals should be submitted in the format developed by the CPYRWMA. Please email the agency for required forms at choctaw@troy.edu. Project selections will be made by the Project Committee and the Board of Directors of the CPYRWMA.
